Service Opportunities
The Archdiocesan Legal Network: Lawyers volunteer
their services to indigents who are referred to the Network by Catholic
Charities. These lawyers represent their clients pro bono publico in employment,
domestic relations, landlord tenant and immigration matters in the courts in the
District of Columbia and Maryland. Other lawyers and paraprofessionals perform
intake, screening cases for referral to volunteer members of the Network
The Archdiocesan Health Care Network. Physicians
and nurses from every medical discipline volunteer their services to indigents
at shelters and other primary care facilities that serve the poor without
charge.
The Young Members Fellowship. In the past year, the
Young Members have “adopted” the Immaculate Conception Elementary School. They
have painted parts of the school, created a computer lab, sponsored the
collection of art supplies and served in other helpful capacities in a school
located in an economically challenged area of the District.
